The International Reading Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the premier source for information, advice, and support regarding excellent reading instruction. We believe excellent reading instruction includes
- standards and practices
- assistance to children who struggle with reading
- reading professionals’ preparation and continuing development
- policies affecting reading instruction
To accomplish these goals, and so we can continually strive to improve, we encourage our members and friends to donate to IRA. We are committed to raising funds that will enhance and expand organizational programs and initiatives that are based on the strategic priorities of the Association and meet the needs of its members. Our fundraising activities include annual giving, major gift planning, and grant development. In the future, we will add special events and a capital campaign as needed.
Gifts may be designated in many ways. Your donation could be used to
- fund memberships for deserving students and pre-service teachers,
- advance educational technologies,
- endow awards and grant-funding programs,
- provide convention scholarships for qualified new members
- support professional development endeavors
- foster international programs,
- fund another area of interest
Donations may also be unrestricted and used where the need is the greatest. You decide where your gift goes.
