The San Antonio International Airport is a quick eight miles from the airport to downtown. Taxi service to the downtown area is approximately $25, and up to four passengers can ride for the price of one. The airport shuttle to the downtown area is currently $32 for round trip.

IRA provides complimentary shuttle service between most official convention hotels and the convention center. The Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Hilton Palacio del Rio, Marriott Rivercenter, and Marriott Riverwalk are all within walking distance.
Schedules will be available in the lobbies of hotels on the official route and at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Shuttle buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and will be available by calling the number listed in the bus schedule brochure. Please call at least 60 minutes ahead to be sure we are able to fully accommodate your needs.
The Convention Store will be providing direct shuttle service from the Convention Center to the San Antonio International Airport on Monday, April 22, from 10AM to 5PM. Buses will depart from the Convention Center on the hour and half-hour. Tickets are $15 per person (cash only) and may be purchased at the Shuttle Information desk located outside the Convention Center beginning with the first day of shuttle service on Thursday, April 18.
The International Reading Association invites and welcomes members and non-members from every part of the world to attend the 58th IRA Annual Convention. Participants are not required to be a presenter in order to attend the convention. We recommend that you start the visa application process five to six months before the convention begins. It is also wise to secure your travel visa and airline reservations before registering for the convention.
