IRA does not mail out any badge packets before convention. A barcoded email confirmation will be sent to all processed registrations.
You must bring this barcoded email confirmation letter with you to San Antonio, to the scan-and-go counters in the IRA registration area, where your name badges, institute badges, and luncheon tickets will be printed. You may only print each of these once at registration. Any reprints will be charged a $50 nonrefundable fee at the on-site registration area.
NEW THIS YEAR! Smartphone users will have the option to pull up the barcoded email confirmation on their electronic devices on-site and use at the scan-and-go centers.
Student participants who are not IRA members will not receive a barcoded email confirmation letter. Non-member students must bring a photo ID, proof of student status, a student ID number, and school name to the Attendee On-site, Special Services/Students counter before receiving their convention materials.
Attendance at all institutes, sessions, workshops, symposia, committee meetings, and the exhibit hall is limited to registered participants with convention badges. Security staff will look for each participant's official IRA 58th Annual Convention registration badge throughout the week.
If more than one person is registering from your institution, be sure to register them individually. A separate registration form or online record is required for each registrant. Badge sharing is strictly prohibited and clock hours will only be awarded to the person who is officially registered.
You may register guests not involved with or working in the fields of reading or literacy, such as your spouse, significant other, or family member over the age of 18. Our guest badge policy stipulates that each registrant may purchase a guest badge with access to the exhibit hall for all three days at $75. Guests cannot attend sessions and are not eligible for clock hours.
IRA's policy prohibits the attendance of children under 18 years of age in sessions and the Exhibit Hall. A liability release form can be submitted for such minors for the Exhibit Hall only. No exceptions can be made for sessions.
Print out a copy of the Minor Liability Release Form, sign it, and mail to Peggy DiMaio at IRA, 800 Barksdale Road, Newark, DE 19714. You may also scan the signed copy and email it to email@example.com. Release forms may be obtained in the registration area on-site. Direct all inquiries regarding this policy to Peggy DiMaio at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Throughout the week of the Annual Convention, IRA photographers will be taking pictures of sessions and events. These photos will be archived for planning future conferences; however, some may be used for educational, news, or promotional purposes, such as publication in Reading Today, in marketing materials for IRA, on our website, and/or social media outlets. By participating in the Annual Convention, you grant IRA the right to use your photograph for these purposes.
Absolutely no wheeled carts, strollers, totes, or luggage of any kind will be permitted to be sold, given away, or used in the exhibit hall or education sessions.
IRA shares convention registration lists to current exhibiting companies, who may contact participants about special meetings, social events, or other offers and invitations. If you do not want your information shared, please indicate this at the time of registration.
