Adolescent Literacy Committee

 

Charges:

  1. Identify promising middle school and high school literacy programs. Design a plan for disseminating information about these programs to IRA members and others.

  2. Develop a plan for communicating IRA's adolescent literacy position statement to state governors, school superintendents, and other relevant state policy makers.

  3. Review recent IRA publications related to adolescent literacy issues, and recommend the development of additional publications related to adolescent literacy learning, subject to established IRA submission, review, and approved procedures.

  4. Recommend initiatives that will expand IRA membership among those whose primary professional responsibility is the education of adolescent students.
