Studies and Research Steering Committee

Charges:

  1. Review, revise, and update, with the Director of Research and Development, the strategic plan for accomplishing the research goals of the Association, and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors by December 5, 2008. Clear three to five year goals should be specified.

  2. Work with the IRA President and Director of Research and Policy to plan the Reading Research Conference.

  3. Continue to carry out the charges in the Bylaws:

  a. Determine issues that merit intensive study and make recommendations to the Board;

  b. Offer leadership in research activities in cooperation with other committees;

  c. Encourage the submittal of proposals for IRA conferences and publications to disseminate research findings, subject to the regular review process; and

  d. Examine ways to increase the number of research proposals submitted for the Annual Convention.
