The International Reading Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the premier source for information, advice, and support regarding excellent reading instruction. We believe excellent reading instruction includes standards and practices, assistance to children who struggle with reading, reading professionals preparation and continuing development, and policies affecting reading instruction. To accomplish these goals, and so we can continually strive to improve, we ask for help from our members and friends. We are committed to raising funds that will enhance and expand organizational programs and initiatives that are based on the strategic priorities of the Association and meet the needs of its members. Our fundraising activities include annual giving, major gift planning, and grant development. In the future, we will add special events and a capital campaign as needed. Gifts may be designated in many ways. Your contribution could be used to fund memberships for deserving students and pre-service teachers, to advance educational technologies, to endow awards and grant-funding programs, to provide convention scholarships for qualified new members, to support professional development endeavors, to foster international programs, or to fund another area of interest. Gifts may also be unrestricted and used where the need is the greatest. You decide where your gift goes. Gifts to the Association may also be made in any one of several ways and can be arranged to achieve maximum tax benefits for the donor while at the same time provide support to the Association.
