54th Annual Convention West:
Phoenix Session Tickets

Convention attendees who take advantage of prepaid registration can reserve a seat for workshops and other key sessions in Phoenix. Here’s how it works:

  1. Purchase a full-convention or one-day registration and provide your e-mail address with your registration. You will then be eligible to select 2 ticketed sessions for each day of registration (one in a.m. and one in p.m.). Thus, an attendee who registers for the full convention is eligible to select a maximum of 8 session tickets; someone who registers for one day is eligible to select a maximum of 2. Please note that session ticketing is an online-only service. You must provide an e-mail address with your registration in order to take advantage of session ticketing.

  2. When you register prior to the January 19 deadline, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions on session ticketing, including your personal deadline for reserving sessions. Because of the large demand for session tickets, these deadlines cannot be extended.

  3. For those who reserve session tickets, they will be mailed to you with your registration packet. Packets will be mailed beginning in December 2008. Please check your packet carefully to ensure the correct tickets are included.

  4. Be sure to bring your tickets to Phoenix. No tickets will be issued on site, and no changes or replacement tickets can be processed. Check the final program on site to confirm meeting room locations and times. IRA is not responsible for cancelled sessions.

  5. Arrive at the meeting room at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Lines will be formed outside each meeting room for conferees with and without tickets; those holding tickets will be admitted first to claim their guaranteed seats. Five minutes before the session begins, any unfilled seats will be given to conferees who do not have tickets, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Of course, the convention features hundreds of meetings you can attend without a ticket. Your personal online planner (available September 3) allows you to browse and search these sessions and add them to your itinerary. Plan to arrive early at all meeting rooms — attendance at nonticketed sessions is on a first-come, first-served basis.
