IRAs worldwide network provides resources and support to literacy teachers and learners around the globe. Individuals interested in becoming involved in these efforts can volunteer as a technical adviser or trainer.
On regional, national, and local levels, activities are supported by coordinating committees, IRA-affiliated national organizations, and staff program officers. In addition, councils in IRAs network seek international project partnerships. Find out about our activities in |

On March 30, 2006, IRA and UNESCO signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the objective of assisting countries to strengthen literacy policies, programs, and training to ensure that children, youth, and adults can reach a mastery level of reading competence in accordance with the United Nations Literacy Decade. The focus of this agreement is mainly on countries in Africa, but it provides for the possibility of expansion into other regions. |
